Sacred Valley Tour from Cusco in a Day

The Sacred Valley invites you to discover its rich history and beautiful landscapes. On this tour, you will visit:

  • Chinchero: A picturesque village known for its Inca agricultural terraces and its colonial temple, built on the foundations of an ancient Inca building. In addition, you will learn about traditional wool processing.
  • Moray: Ancient circular terraces that the Incas used to experiment with crops at different altitudes, creating a complex agricultural system.
  • Salineras de Maras: Salt mines dating back to Inca times, where you can observe the natural process of extracting salt from the mountains.
  • Urubamba: A quiet village in the heart of the Valley, where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
  • Ollantaytambo: An impressive Inca fortress built to protect the valley from invasion, known for its architecture and panoramic views.
  • Pisac: An archaeological complex located on top of a mountain, from where you will have a spectacular view of the entire Sacred Valley.

Itinerary

Sacred Valley Tour from Cusco Full Day

Pick up from your hotel from 6:30 to 7:00 a.m., we will leave for our first visit to Chinchero, a picturesque village, where we can see agricultural terraces, the remains of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui, the beautiful colonial temple built on the foundations of an Inca building and observe the whole process of wool from washing and spinning to become beautiful textiles.

Continuing with our visit we will go to the circular terraces of Moray, where we will observe what were terraces of agricultural experimentation, then we will continue to the Salineras de Maras (salt mines), in this place we will observe the natural process of salt extraction dating from the time of the Incas.

Our next stop will be in the town of Urubamba, a place with good weather where we will have 40 minutes approximately to enjoy a buffet lunch, then we will go to the Ollantaytambo Fortress, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the inhabitants of the jungle.

Our last stop will be in the town of Pisac where we will visit the Archaeological Complex of Pisac, its location is strategic because it is located on top of a mountain, which allows you to have a view of the entire sacred valley. At the end of the tour we will return to Cusco, arriving at 7:00 p.m. approximately.
