Itinerary

Day 1: Iquitos – Jungle Lodge

7:00 a.m. – Reception at Iquitos airport according to your scheduled flight or at your hotel if you are already in Iquitos.

  • Transfer to the Bellavista Nanay Tourist Pier, with a brief orientation about the city of Iquitos during the tour.
  • Visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Malecón de Tarapacá, historical buildings, and the Belén Market, where you can see exotic animals and local foods.
  • Arrival at the Bellavista Nanay Tourist Pier. 15 to 20 minute tour before boarding the boat to learn about the gastronomy of the jungle.
  • Navigation on the Amazon River in comfortable and safe typical boats. During the trip, you will appreciate the breathtaking panorama of the river and the jungle, as well as the picturesque riverside villages.
  • First stop to appreciate the union of the Amazon and Nanay rivers and observe the change of color of the waters that do not mix.
  • Second stop 30 minutes away in the Amazon to visit the Los Yahuas ethnic group. You will learn about their ancestral customs, palm fiber clothing and have the opportunity to use the blowgun or pucuna.
  • Arrival at Yanayacu River Lodge. Welcome and explanation of the Lodge’s sustainability standards. Then you will have your private cabin.
  • 1:30 p.m. Amazonian lunch.
  • In the afternoon, we will swim in the waters of the Amazon and exfoliate with Amazon mud, followed by the observation of the Amazonian sunset. Dinner at the Lodge.
  • Night excursion to discover the world of nocturnal insects, cicadas, spiders, tarantulas, praying mantises, snakes, among others.
  • Return to the Lodge and overnight.

Day 2: Jungle Lodge – Iquitos

4:30 a.m. – Morning tour to observe the Amazonian sunrise and receive positive energies Opportunity to see various species of birds and learn about them from your guide

  • Navigation to observe the pink dolphin (Bufeo Colorado), one of the unique species of the Amazon.
  • Return to the Lodge and breakfast.
  • Visit to the Artisan Sugar Mill to learn about ancient tools from the jungle and participate in the extraction of sugar cane juice. Tasting of typical aphrodisiac and medicinal drinks.
  • Artisanal fishing tour  of piranhas and other species with local techniques. Opportunity to cook your catch.
  • Return to the Lodge and lunch.
  • 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Return to Iquitos and transfer to your hotel or the airport. This concludes our services.
