Tambopata Sandoval Lake Peru Tour 2 Days

We will pick you up at the airport or bus terminal and take you to our office to check in. Then, we will depart to the dock, where we will board a boat for a 40-minute ride to the lodge.

Upon arrival, we will welcome you with a fresh fruit juice while our guide explains the lodge rules. After settling into our rooms, we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we will head into the jungle for a two-hour hike, guided by a local expert. We will discover medicinal plants and ancient trees, and observe a variety of wildlife such as monkeys, parrots, reptiles, and more. You will experience the unique energy of the Tambopata National Reserve.

In the evening, we will go out by boat on the river to look for nocturnal animals such as caimans, owls, and possibly the capybara, the world’s largest rodent. At the end of the day, we will return for dinner.

Sunrise is the perfect time to observe wildlife. Early in the morning, we will sail to Sandoval Lake, inside the Tambopata National Reserve.

We will walk along a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) wooden trail surrounded by exotic wildlife. Upon arrival at the lake, we will board a paddle boat to explore its calm waters. Here you will see black caimans, giant otters, turtles, monkeys, macaws, and more.

We will return to the lodge before noon for lunch. Depending on your flight or bus schedule, the return to Puerto Maldonado will be before or after lunch.
